Midnite is number 15 in my list of tracks where I have been releasing one single and video each month. This track is quite stylish and sits well next to an earlier track I recorded called Nightmare. This song has a creepy feel to it and we used less lighting to create a more moody video.

The story is really about a feeling you get, a bit like when someone walks over your grave, or when you have shivers up your spine,  hence the words “ there’s the strangest feeling in the air tonight” and “strange things, get the kinda feeling somethings creeping in“

It’s a bit like the Devil Came Down to Georgia as in how I visualized it.

The music is slightly reggae with a Hammond Organ featuring and a sax solo from the amazing Neil Woodcock.

I didn’t do many vocal harmony lines as I felt it needed a more empty, haunting, spooky feel to make it work. Count Dracula appears in it and some creepy looking background figures floating around.

I also used my Flying V guitar which looks great in the video.

I think we have managed to keep the quirky bit, which features in all my songs, this is particularly noticeable at the start of the video where the door is a bit Scooby Do-ish and also shows a cat in the cat flap and my two pet Great Danes.

I’m not quite sure of the genre, I guess I would put this under as its quite different , other than the hint of Reggae, I can’t think or find anything it specifically relates to.

It would be a good track for a late night jazz club or a Halloween or spooky party, hope you enjoy it.
